Our Story

Welcome To Steel City Tattoo

Tattooing is a very personal art form. At Steel City Tattoo we strive to stay away from the “cookie cutter” reputation that many of today’s studios have earned. Since inception, Steel City Tattoo has been setting the standards for the rest of the Body Art Industry!

As you look through our website you will find photographs of the artwork we have produced. Please respect the artwork and do not duplicate it. The images were designed for the individual and are not intended to be copied.

If you are in a hurry to get your tattoo done and over with… we suggest that you go elsewhere. We encourage you to shop around and get educated about not only the studio but the body artist(s) that you are wanting to receive a tattoo from. They are not all ‘created equal‘!

Only the Best

Innovative Style, & Techniques

Our innovative style, techniques and a positive attitude towards achieving the very ultimate in Body Art are Unsurpassed! We are not like any other tattooing studio you’ve ever visited. Our studio is an art gallery, reflecting the fine art of tattooing.

What We Offer

We offer you the following with your Body Art experience at Steel City Tattoo:

  • A Clean and Friendly Professional Atmosphere with Experienced, Certified Artists.
  • We accept Cash, Major Credit Cards and Travelers Cheques
    (Sorry…No Checks!).

The artists at Steel City Tattoo undergo extensive bloodborne pathogen training by the American Safety Council to ensure knowledge of safe and sterile practices and awareness of the sterile chain of events required for safe tattooing. Anything that comes in contact with skin is both sterile and disposable. We use UVC and surfactant sterilization techniques for any equipment that cannot be autoclaved and cover all surfaces with plastic before each tattoo. To ensure non-cross contamination we have both hands free sinks and hands free soap dispensers. Steel City Tattoo is one of the only Southern Colorado tattoo studios who use biohazard disposal for both sharps containers (disposable tattoo needles and tubes) and trash.

Sorry, but it is our company policy that we do not tattoo hands, faces or necks.

“Very professional, extremely friendly”

Rich Ives, you are a master at what you do! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can’t wait for my next tattoo! Very professional, extremely friendly, and you leave with a smile! I don’t think I’ll ever go anywhere else and hope he never retires because I have lots of more skin to do! LOL, VERY VERY Highly recommended!

Wayne Walter

“What a fantastic studio!”

“What a fantastic studio! Don’t come here for crappy wall art these people are highly skilled artists who will be wasting their skills on your stupid armband and butterflies. Ok so maybe they don’t mind doing that stuff and I’m sure it helps pay the bills. I am just offended at the thought of anyone wasting the talent of these skilled people. For great work and artists who will help you create your piece, these are the people.”

Ben Carter

“Relaxed yet professional”

“Rich did an excellent job of crafting something unique for me. Taking the time to discuss why the subject matter appealed to me and formed the design accordingly. He’s fun to talk to, and the studio is relaxed yet professional. His crew is friendly and outgoing. All around a really great shop. “
